I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
