The second-hand marketplace Members Share Anger Regarding Size Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change.
Social Media Reaction
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping.
The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Changes
Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated.
Required Changes
Another shopper, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The app has more than 100 million members, with 18 million British users.
It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
